AudioFeed ("we", "our", "the app") lets you subscribe to RSS/Atom news feeds and listen to them as audio. This page explains what information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase) so you can sign in and sync your data across devices.
- Feed and app data. The RSS/Atom feed URLs you add, your reading and favorite status for articles, and your app preferences (theme, playback, and similar settings) are stored so your feed list and history stay in sync.
- Content you fetch. To show you articles and generate audio, the app fetches content from the public RSS/Atom feeds you subscribe to and, where you enable it, sends article text to a summarization/translation service to produce a summary or audio narration.
- Diagnostic data. We may collect basic crash and performance logs to help us fix bugs. These logs do not include your password or article content.
How we use this information
- To create and maintain your account and sync your feeds, favorites, and read state across your devices.
- To fetch, parse, summarize, and narrate the articles from feeds you subscribe to.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the app's reliability and performance.
- To communicate with you about your account, such as password resets or important service notices.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf, under agreements that limit how they may use it:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting for your account and app data.
- AI/summarization providers — used only to generate summaries or audio narration for articles you choose to listen to, if you enable that feature.
On-device processing
Depending on your device and settings, some article summarization or text-to-speech processing may happen locally on your device using an on-device model, in which case that article content is not sent to any server.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and app data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your feeds, favorites, or your entire account from within the app's settings at any time. Deleting your account removes your stored feed list, favorites, and reading history from our servers. See our account deletion page for how to request deletion by email.
Your choices
- You can add, edit, or remove feeds and favorites at any time within the app.
- You can reset your password using the link on this site.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see our account deletion page for instructions.
Children's privacy
AudioFeed is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
